At the Expo Doha 2024, near the Ecuador Pavilion, the Ambassador of Ecuador in Qatar H.E Mr. Pascual Del Cioppo and His Wife Mrs. Priscilla Del Cioppo planted sidra trees on behalf of the Ecuadorian community, the tree is a symbol of the spirit of the country of Qatar, the sidra tree is technically known as ziziphus-spina-christi.

The sidra tree has traditional roots in Qatar, in addition to offering shade and shelter in difficult times in the desert, it is also known as the meeting point be neath its foliage for poets and thinkers.

At the event, the interest of the Embassy of Ecuador in permanently contributing to forestry in Qatar was highlighted, since, in the coming months, the Embassy will be planting traditional Ecuadorian trees in specific Green House locations in Qatar.
