President Rafael Correa will visit Qatar and Switzerland to expand commercial and academic relations
The President of the Republic, Rafael Correa will visit Qatar and Switzerland, between 21 and 24 October, where he will have a busy schedule that will focus primarily on expanding trade relations and cooperation in science and education, among other topics. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility will accompany the Head of State.
President Correa will arrive in the city of Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday night, and coordination meetings will be held on Wednesday. The agenda begins with the Emir of Qatar audience, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, with who will make a formal greeting and signing agreements.
In the afternoon, the President will provide interviews with two of the most important media in Qatar, Al Jazeera and Al Sharq. He will also meet with the Association of Businessmen of Qatar, match that also involved Ecuadorian entrepreneurs who will work for the expansion of markets in this country.
On Wednesday, the President will meet with Sheikha Mozah, president of the Qatar Foundation (Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development), an organization that will be visited by the president. Also, tour the Park Qatar Science and Technology. The same day in the afternoon leave for Switzerland.
The President’s activities in Geneva, Switzerland, will begin at the Prebish Catedra, which dictate the Keynote Address entitled “Ecuador: Development as a political process”.
Then the President will visit the European Centre for Nuclear Research (CERN) and visit the Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva.
